Since its inception, the SPRS has been dedicated to promoting the science and art of vaginal surgery among gynecologic surgeons worldwide. This objective is accomplished primarily through an annual scientific conference consisting of selected presentations containing the most up-to-date information on clinical and research topics as related to pelvic reconstructive surgery. It is the SPRS's intent to bring together at this conference today's leading pelvic reconstructive surgeons to freely and openly discuss their latest clinical and research findings. In addition, before each conference the SPRS sponsors a hands-on cadaver lab conducted by internationally-respected anatomists in the field of pelvic reconstructive surgery.

Membership in the SPRS provides many opportunities to keep up with the latest in clinical and research developments in pelvic reconstructive surgery. As well, it also entitles members to discounted rates on scientific conferences and educational materials such as the Pelvic Surgery Films DVD Collection.

Members are required to pay annual dues and must attend one conference every three years to maintain their good standing. Membership is on a calendar basis August through July. Members are invoiced every year on the first of August.
